The 10 Minute Important Health Tip you may be Missing

You have an infection, skin condition or medical challenge you can’t seem to shake.  You take a medication or supplement, and it doesn’t seem to help. You do your due diligence with your diet and exercise, but it doesn’t seem to matter, so what is going on?

Enter the lymph system.  We have three times more lymph than blood in our body.

We have our hearts to pump our blood but no system to pump the lymph.  Therefore, when our lymph gets congested, we develop problems. It may be an elevated cholesterol or glucose level, an infection or even something more serious like cancer.

A healthy lifestyle is advantageous, but we still need to address and pump our lymph to maintain our health. I know firsthand as I’ve had lymph congestion for years and never really knew the solution for how to help myself.

“Your drainage determines your detox. You can’t get things out if the doors aren’t open and the doors are the lymph nodes” states Kelly Kennedy a specialist in all things lymph.

We are constantly exposed to environmental challenges such as toxins, pesticides, endocrine disruptors, and trauma as well as our food supply which has additives, preservatives, dyes and inflammatory oils and sugars.

If we cannot drain properly our body has to have a way to get rid of toxins so the liver becomes overwhelmed and takes the hit leading to a negative impact on cholesterol or glucose levels, incidence of fatty liver and other medical challenges.

My problem was scars – I have multiple scars on my body from surgeries (biking accident 20 years ago, thyroid nodule, etc.) and in February I broke my elbow, had surgery, and that final scar put me over the edge with pain and unrest in my body.  Scars can suffocate the lymph system and therefore need our attention as well.

It was a long journey for me, but I went to The True Wellness Center to receive intense scar and lymph work, and it was life changing. Kelly Kennedy and her team are highly skilled and dedicated to lymph health, and it gave me a whole new appreciation for how critical treatment of the lymph system is for our wellness.

I’ve blogged about the lymph system before but encourage you to make this a top priority.  If you have scars, they need your attention.  Being intentional about your lifestyle helps, but pumping the lymph is critical.

Other things that assist the lymph are rebounding, sweating, dry brushing and even the clothes you wear (loose fitting, organic cotton, wool or linen versus synthetic clothing like polyester (plastic) and rayon). However, if the lymph nodes are not open even these modalities may not work.

Doing manual pumping twice a day will only take you 10 minutes and can start the process of drainage which will help your body start to detox on its own and take the pressure off your liver and kidneys.  You may need more intense work than this, but this one health habit can start the process.  It’s free, takes a minimal amount of time and can lead to better health – so what have you got to lose?
