Healthy Finds for 2025

There are always new products on the market and the key is – are those products ones of integrity?  The label may state they are clean or healthy or help lower risk of some disease, but do they really offer the benefits the label states they do? The details of what a product contains are more important than ever before given the amount of toxic ingredients in our food and personal care product supply.

Below are a few products I recently found and use on a daily basis.

Feel Good Cream

When I broke my elbow in February it was more painful than I anticipated.  Since I am intolerant of most drugs I was on the search to help my throbbing elbow at night.  Interesting that I was prescribed narcotics which could cost around $5 a prescription. However, I wanted an anti-inflammatory cream you can buy over the counter in Europe for a few Euros and my insurance said it would not cover the cost of it, meaning the out-of-pocket cost would be $1000 for 3.5 ounces (shocking). No thank you!

I found an amazing cream called Feel Good Cream which is made of multiple herbal ingredients including arnica, turmeric, menthol, Boswellia, aloe, yarrow, and magnesium (see picture for full ingredient list). I emailed the company to find out what type of water they put in their product, and they emailed right back that it was ionized water which is very good.

Tip:  You could buy a product that has great ingredients but if it contains water check the type of water. If it is not filtered for pesticides and toxins your otherwise clean product can be contaminated.

I have been using this cream for 2 months with good results.  They have a few sizes and a nice travel one and great customer service.

Pum Thins

Pum Thins are a new cracker on the market with great ingredients – they are made of organic pumpkin seeds, organic sunflower seeds, and the oils are avocado and olive. They have a nice crunch and pair well with most everything.

Tip: Most crackers have seed oils and additives that are inflammatory so finding one such as this with good ingredients is key.

Evan Healy

Do you ever feel like you are constantly putting on lip balm which never seems to truly moisten your lips?  Did you know that most lip balms have petroleum (motor oil) which is a hormone disruptor you are swallowing and therefore hard on your gut microbiome. Even more disturbing is that most also contain chemicals caused phenols (endocrine or hormone disruptors) which can make your lips dryer. I was on the search for a replacement and found Evan Healy.

Evan Healy which is a company that makes clean personal care products. They are true believers in the connection between the microbiome of the soil and the skin and make products that have minimal ingredients, no plastics, parabens or fragrances (only essential organic oils). Their lip balm contains whipped shea butter in addition to other healing ingredients and does moisturize your lips.

Tip:  Whatever you put on your body (skin, lips, etc.) read the ingredients and become a detective in whether this product is good for you or contains ingredients that might be detrimental to your health.

Aquatrue

Water is more complicated than ever before.  Tap water is more toxic than ever before in history. If you want to do an easy free check on your tap water, take a look at this database to see what is in your water.

Reverse osmosis, hydrogen water, structured water – where do you start?

Reverse osmosis takes all the toxins out of the water so it’s a blank slate. It does remove minerals but if you are eating mineral rich foods, it really does not matter. I was on the search for an affordable on the counter reverse osmosis that did not break the bank and discovered Aquatrue. They have two options based on your family’s needs.  It’s easy, affordable and can start you down the road of cleaner drinking water.

Tip:  Start to think about how you can get cleaner water for drinking, for showering, washing your produce and even your dishes. Each change you make will impact your health in a positive way.

So there you have it – something for pain, something to drink healthy water, a healthy cracker and a good skin care line with lip balm for the summer months. Thank goodness we have options now to create a continued direction towards health!
