Saving Your Health in 2022
As many of you know I’m always on the hunt for natural and organic ways to increase health, longevity and expose one to less toxins and chemicals. I’m excited to share with you some new and unusual finds for 2022 for health, sleep, and enjoyment.
Uncle Harry’s Breath Freshener
This spray is my favorite must have for fresh breath. I keep one right next to my computer and one in my purse. It’s made of peppermint oil which not only tastes great but makes your breath minty and is a wonderful aid for digestion. Free of sugar, sweeteners, and other chemicals so you can replace breath mints and gums. Bad breath be gone!
I am a huge cinnamon fan! I love cinnamon on my yogurt, cottage cheese, and in basically any dish I can add it to. The cinnamon you find at the grocery store is a type of cinnamon called Cassia. Unfortunately, Cassia cinnamon contains an unregulated toxic chemical called coumarin. While coumarin is banned in the US as an additive to foods it is not regulated in cinnamon. I went on the hunt to find an alternative and the type of cinnamon that is safe is called Ceylon. Ceylon cinnamon is from Sri Lanka, is low in coumarin, and can have helpful health benefits.
The company that I discovered is Cinnamon Vogue and they sell a high-grade Ceylon cinnamon. Not only is their cinnamon powder excellent, but I use their bark oil daily. If you add a few drops to your water, you experience a burst of refreshing scent and taste in your mouth (especially good for those who do not like to drink water). It is also considered anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Cinnamon vogue also sells teas, candles, toothpicks, and a face mask all of which are excellent. The owner Aséla is very friendly and helpful if you have questions about their products.
The unfortunate situation of something wonderful for you can also be quite harmful. We’re aware of the healing and soothing properties of tea and since I am a daily tea drinker I subscribe to these benefits. I mostly stick to loose leaf teas but when I am traveling or at the office I use the bagged. The sad news is that most tea bags release thousands of micro plastics when they hit hot water and because tea (and coffee as well) contains pesticides a beverage has healing properties may not be healthful. Enter Oteas tea. I found them a few months ago and was thrilled with their company values and selection…and a solution to the problem of usual bagged teas.
Their bags are certified plastic free (and are plant-based biodegradable), gluten free and organic. My favorite one is the organic green tea with peppermint, but they are all excellent and offer a nice selection of interesting blends. Try a few types and you will not be disappointed.
One of the most common complaints I hear is “I have leg cramps at night.” Since I am also in this camp, I went on the hunt to find some solutions. Many times, taking oral magnesium may not be adequate so putting on magnesium lotion prior to bed or taking a bath with magnesium flakes can be greatly beneficial. This company (Environmedica) has both and their products are excellent. My legs have been much happier at night. Since their magnesium lotion is so popular I found a back up that is almost as good and is on Vitacost.
Jeffrey asked me to research a company that makes freeze dried products that are organic, free of gluten, sugar, preservatives, dyes, etc. and I found Wild Zora.
We ordered their all-assortment variety pack and so far, we have tried the soups, entrees, and the grain-free cereals. Their products have a pleasant taste, and provide a wonderful solution when you are traveling, on the road, at the office, etc. They are also great for back packing trips and longer hikes. Some products have more carbs than others, but the integrity is fantastic, and it provides a great option when you need a healthy choice at a moment’s notice.
Most of us have plastic wraps in our drawers and don’t give a thought that we are eating organic foods and wrapping them in plastic. If you have not converted to using glass containers for your leftovers this is something to consider as a start. If you need a wrap, I found Bee’s Wrap which is made of organic cotton and responsibly sourced bee’s wax. It does not “hug” the dish like conventional plastic but does the job, is washable and cuts down on waste. The advantages for our environment and health is a much better choice!
So there you have it. A spring list to further the process towards health and happiness…building your health bank with replacement of products one step at a time.

Thank you, Susan. Lucky we were monitoring our orders when you ordered so much and wanted more information about our products. Please let people know the Ceylon Cinnamon Bark Oil must be diluted (1-3 drops max per 1 cup of hot water, black tea or black coffee) because it is extremely powerful and concentrated. In addition to the incredibly refined aroma it does wonders for your stomach like nothing else on earth. We also have lots of recipes on our website if you are cooking with Ceylon Cinnamon powder. Once again thank you for being so kind. We really appreciate it.

Good thoughts here – I have been trying a Tom’s natural deodorant which seems pretty good – I tried others and they made me itch – not sure what that was about! Best- Greg
