Giving Thanks
I have much to be thankful for this year – a career that I love, a new office I’m moving into in 2 weeks, a great husband and happy puppy who drives me crazy.
I am privileged to help others with their health issues, and put the pieces of puzzles together for others on how to eat.
When I think of people around the globe struggling to survive, people in New Jersey and New York without homes and those still without power I count my blessings.
Do you have your health? Do you have a house over your head? Maybe you are not happy with your weight but that is something you can do something about.
High cholesterol or diabetes? Those are controllable health issues that can be managed. Natural disasters are not controllable.
Give thanks this season for what you have, and if your desired health or weight is an issue consider a plan for the upcoming year for how to manage it.
I was given the diabetes and overweight genes at birth and becoming a dietitian was my way to learn how to overcome it. However, I still need to manage my food and exercise on a daily basis. It’s given me the opportunity to help others and help myself and for that I am saying thanks this holiday season.
What are you thankful for? Make a list and tell those around you?
