Meet Susan
My career in the health and wellness field has now spanned almost 30 years, during which time I’ve created a successful platform which encompasses a health practice, trainings for medical and psychology professionals, and books on healthy eating.
I am a speaker, author, instructor and consultant. I love what I do, and my specialties include diabetes and endocrinology, gut issues (IBS, SIBO, GERD), weight management, PCOS, pregnancy, menopause, cancer and exercise nutrition.
My journey in helping clients with their health has led me to seek a collaborative way to listen and evoke someone’s own internal motivation for change since ambivalence with behavior change is more the norm. I discovered the language of Motivational Interviewing which is a person-centered, guiding method of communication and counseling to elicit and strengthen motivation for change.

New Healthy Finds for 2022
One of the most common things I hear in my office (or zoom office) is “have you found anything new that will help my health and diet?” With so many products on the market it is challenging to sort through what is healthy and not gimmicky. Here are a few of my fun finds: Dark […]
Living an Anti-inflammatory Lifestyle
If you have a cold, virus, or a more serious medical concern, you may immediately think “I need to go to the doctor” and the next thought may be “what do I TAKE for that?” Although going to a physician may be the best course of action, perhaps the question needs to be “what is […]
Gluten Free Tiger Nut Chocolate Chip Cookies
Tiger nut flour is the new kid on the block. It has vast benefits including being a stand alone flour – meaning you can substitute it for regular flour in a 1:1 ratio. Because it is naturally a little sweet you can also reduce the amount of sugar in recipes. Finally it contains more nutrients […]
Cleaning Toxicity out of your Beauty
Did you know the average woman puts over 500 synthetic chemicals on her body every day? Alarmingly, did you also know that the cosmetic industry does not require companies to test products for safety…meaning your lipstick, lotion, and makeup are not tested AT ALL! Companies can put most anything in the products they produce since […]
Is it SIBO, Leaky Gut, Dysbiosis or something else?
Until the last few years you might have gone to the doctor with complaints of bloating, gas, constipation or diarrhea and your doctor might have given you a diagnosis of IBS, AKA Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Unfortunately, this was just a possible “code” for “I’m not really sure what is going on with your gut.” Nowadays […]
