| Lemon Broccoli

This recipe has converted many a
broccoli-hater to enjoy broccoli. It is one of my
favorites and frequently requested by my family when
they are visiting.

2 ½ pounds of broccoli
2-3 cloves of garlic, halved
2 tablespoons of virgin olive oil
Juice of 1 lemon
Freshly cracked pepper
Trim stem ends of broccoli and split
thick stems to heads. Steam over boiling water until
barely tender, about 7 minutes, and drain.
Sauté garlic in olive
oil until garlic begins to brown. Discard and add
broccoli to seasoned oil. Cook until tender, turning
pieces frequently. Sprinkle with lemon juice and season
to taste with pepper.
