Jolene's Story:
My name is Jolene. At fifty- three, I am single and working in the IT Healthcare arena in the Los Angeles area. I find myself grateful to have interesting employment in a growing industry when so many people are in struggling businesses or unemployed.
I have been coordinating care for my aging mother for several years and like many of my friends need to remember to use the airplane model “put your mask on first” when providing care for family and or friends. The lesson it seems to me is that if you take care of yourself, physically, mentally and spiritually, it becomes less of an effort and more joyful to help our families and friends when there is a time of need.
I am truly thankful for the friendship I have shared with the other women on this blog, some for a lifetime and others who bring new awareness’s and ideas to my life. All of these women have been loving and supportive throughout my life and are concerned for my health and doing what they can to encourage me to “take control” of my life. (It appears I need quite a lot of encouragement!) We are all appreciative to Susan Dopart for inviting us to be a part of her blog. It provides a great platform for us to support one another!
Lack of regular exercise and far too much fine food in the last few years have rendered me with an array of annoying health problems that I hope to relieve via Susan Dopart “Recipe for Life” program. I realize, I need a new “life style” which must include exercise as well as new and better choices. My goal is to be healthy, feel energetic, and live a happy and active life. I am anxious to do more of the active things I have done throughout my life.
I have an appointment with Susan Dopart in the very near future and look forward to having her guidance in making this shift to create a New Recipe for my own life!
