Brands of Broth?

A common question I’m asked about is what broths to buy.  Since many brands of broth exist on the market, knowing what to look for can help with this particular condiment.

Look for a broth that is free of additives or preservatives and lower in sodium.  For example, many popular brands contain MSG, and/or list one of the ingredients as “broth” which can contain forms of MSG.  Therefore, it is important to choose a brand that does not contain MSG or the word broth in the label.

Choose organic, low sodium, prepared with vegetables, herbs or spices for the best flavored broth.  A good option is to make your own.  If you invest the time a few times a year and freeze it can save you both money and additives/preservatives that can affect your health- saves you money and your life!
