New "Clean Eating" Restaurant in Santa Monica

Sometimes stumbling upon a rare find is a beautiful thing, especially when it fits your philosophy of living and health.  After spending the last 3 years cooking and testing recipes for our book, Jeffrey and I decided to go out to dinner at a new restaurant on Main Street in Santa Monica - La Grande Orange.

I had met the general manager, Darren Newell, a few week’s back who told me the philosophy of the restaurant was clean, wholesome food – something I advocate and stand for and how Jeffrey and I came up with the recipes for our book, A Recipe for Life by the Doctor’s Dietitian.

From the moment you walk into La Grande Orange, you are treated with respect and friendliness, a rare find in Los Angeles.  No pretentiousness here.  Our server, Fonda, guided us through the menu with ease, patience and excitement.  The food arrived in a timely manner and was delicious, well-proportioned with plenty of protein paired with clean-looking and tasting vegetables, and condiments.  The twin-tenets to a excellent restaurant:  beautiful delicious clean food paired with warm and efficient service.  And, reasonable prices in Santa Monica – who knew?

“My biggest ideology is honest food with NO hidden ingredients - thus making it clean,” states Bob Lynn, the owner of La Grande Orange.  I enjoyed it so much I am going back tonight.  La Grande Orange is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Treat yourself to a nice meal out – I promise you won’t be disappointed.
